About Dee
Hi! I’m Dee. I’ve always enjoyed helping others understand challenging subjects, and I especially love the moment when something finally “clicks” for a student.
I’m also an instructor and coach, so I’m comfortable working with different personalities and learning styles. I’m patient, approachable, and believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
My goal isn’t just to help students get through their next assignment or test—it’s to help them build the understanding and confidence to tackle the next problem on their own.

My approach is focused on understanding, not memorization. I break complicated concepts into smaller, manageable pieces and explain them in different ways until they click. I also ask questions throughout the lesson to make sure the student is following and encourage them to work through problems themselves rather than simply giving them the answer.
A typical lesson starts by identifying what the student is struggling with and what they want to accomplish. From there, I’ll explain the concept, work through an example together, and then have the student try similar problems with my guidance. We’ll finish by reviewing what they learned and identifying anything that needs additional practice.
What sets me apart is my ability to make technical subjects feel approachable. As a Chemical Engineer with 10+ years of professional experience, I’m comfortable with challenging math and science concepts, but I also genuinely enjoy finding the explanation that makes something finally click for someone.
I work with middle and high school students in math and science, including algebra, geometry, chemistry, biology, and physics. I’m happy to help with specific homework topics, test preparation, foundational concepts, or students who simply want to build more confidence in a subject.
