About Emma
I graduated with a BS in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics in 2021. During my time in college, I worked at the math tutoring center every week in addition to tutoring students privately several days per week, both in person or remotely. I now am a Chemical Engineer working in business development for industrial gas plants, utilizing my math skills everyday for both chemistry and finance.

I am passionate about tutoring most math disciplines, including but not limited to, algebra, geometry, probability and statistics, precalculus, calculus 1/2/3. I am also happy to assist in chemistry and chemical engineering courses!
I love to start with just going through student's homework or study materials, and letting them try to solve the problems their way first. With this approach, I can help modify their thought process in the most easy to understand way based on their problem solving style! Additionally, letting students make mistakes first and then learning the correct way is proven to stick better than having a teacher explain to you only how they would solve the problem - everyone thinks in different ways!
I believe what sets me apart as a tutor is my recent experience in all of these courses, having just graduated college 3 years ago. This also allows me to connect with students more, developing trust and understanding. My incentive to tutor comes from the feeling of pride when seeing a student finally feel confident in their work!
