About Ivy
My interest in chemistry began with curiosity about reactions and molecular transformations in nature. I pursued a B.Sc in Chemistry and an M.Sc in Organic Chemistry to gain both theoretical insight and practical laboratory skills. Over 7 years, I have helped students understand complex concepts, develop problem-solving skills, and build confidence in both classroom and laboratory settings.
I teach with patience, clarity, and interactive engagement, using stepwise guidance, practical examples, and visual demonstrations to make lessons memorable and effective. I encourage critical thinking, questioning, and independent exploration, helping learners internalise concepts rather than memorise them.
Outside teaching, I engage with scientific research, laboratory innovations, and chemical analysis techniques to enhance my lessons. Witnessing students transform uncertainty into competence and curiosity is deeply rewarding. My mission is to develop learners who not only excel academically but also appreciate chemistry’s relevance in understanding and improving the world.

Chemistry is the study of matter, its interactions, and transformations, and my lessons focus on making these ideas tangible and understandable. Students explore chemical bonding, reaction mechanisms, stoichiometry, and laboratory techniques through structured explanations, illustrative examples, and hands-on problem-solving. Each lesson emphasises understanding the reasoning behind chemical principles, encouraging learners to think critically, analyse data, and approach challenges confidently. By connecting theory to everyday phenomena, students gain deeper appreciation and practical understanding of chemistry.
Lesson plans are adapted to each student’s level. Beginners focus on atomic structures, simple reactions, and basic calculations, building a strong foundation. Intermediate learners study titration, pH, molecular interactions, and lab-based problem-solving, enhancing analytical reasoning. Advanced learners engage with reaction mechanisms, synthesis planning, and experimental design, strengthening conceptual mastery and independent thinking. Every lesson combines explanation, practice, and real-life examples to reinforce skills and comprehension.
Beyond academics, chemistry lessons cultivate observation, precision, and analytical thinking. Students learn to evaluate results, interpret data, and apply chemical knowledge practically. My goal is to help learners not only excel in exams but also gain a lasting appreciation for the transformative power and relevance of chemistry in science, industry, and daily life.
