About Kaia
I have been passionate about chemistry from a young age, fascinated by the principles underlying chemical reactions, material properties, and molecular behaviour. This interest led me to pursue a B.Sc in Chemistry followed by an M.Sc in Chemical Sciences. Over the past 10 years, I have guided students at all levels, helping them build foundational knowledge, develop laboratory expertise, and gain confidence in tackling complex problems.
I emphasise clear, structured, and interactive lessons that integrate explanations, exercises, demonstrations, and real-life applications. I encourage independent thinking, problem-solving, and curiosity, ensuring learners develop both competence and confidence in chemistry.
Outside teaching, I stay engaged with research developments, laboratory techniques, and innovative chemical applications. Incorporating these insights into lessons helps students connect theory with modern scientific practice. Seeing learners grow in understanding, skill, and enthusiasm for chemistry remains the most rewarding aspect of my work and inspires my continued dedication to teaching.

My chemistry lessons are structured to make abstract principles engaging, understandable, and applicable. I cover organic synthesis, inorganic reactions, chemical bonding, thermodynamics, kinetics, equilibrium, and analytical techniques. Lessons combine demonstrations, real-life examples, problem-solving exercises, and hands-on experimentation to help students connect theory with practical understanding. I create a supportive environment where learners are encouraged to explore, question, and build confidence in applying chemical concepts.
Beginners focus on fundamentals such as atomic structure, periodic properties, basic reactions, and lab safety. Intermediate students explore reaction mechanisms, stoichiometry, kinetics, and thermodynamics. Advanced learners engage with analytical techniques, spectroscopy, synthesis planning, and experimental design. Each session incorporates explanations, exercises, and discussion to ensure comprehensive understanding, skill development, and confidence in applying chemistry concepts.
Chemistry education strengthens critical thinking, precision, and scientific reasoning. Students develop analytical skills for laboratory work, calculations, and research applications. My goal is to equip learners with mastery of chemical principles, confidence in problem-solving, and the ability to apply knowledge in practical, academic, or professional contexts while fostering curiosity and a love for the subject.
