About Varnan
As a Civil Structural Engineer at AtkinsRéalis, I have the privilege of applying the fundamental principles of mathematics and physics every day to design and build the infrastructure that shapes our world. My motivation for teaching is twofold: the personal fulfilment that comes from direct interaction and mentorship, and a commitment to strengthening our future workforce from the ground up. I am eager to step into the classroom to share my practical experience, demystify complex topics, and inspire a robust understanding of maths and physics. By doing so, I aim to cultivate a generation of thinkers who are technically proficient, confident and passionate about tackling the challenges of the future.

My approach to tutoring is centred on creating a personalised and interactive learning environment where students feel empowered to ask questions and actively engage with the material. I utilise a student-led, conversational methodology, employing interactive whiteboards and multimedia resources to cater to diverse learning styles and make concepts more tangible. The typical length of a lesson is flexible, generally ranging from 45 minutes for younger students to 60 or 90 minutes for those at GCSE or A-Level, ensuring we have adequate time to explore topics in depth without losing focus. My experience as an online tutor with MyTutor has honed my ability to deliver high-quality, one-to-one tuition in a dynamic virtual setting, allowing me to effectively build both subject knowledge and academic confidence in my students.
