About Maria
Maria Paula Gómez Becerra, creator and legal representative of the group Danza a la Colombiana. Performer dancer, originally from Bogotá, Colombia.
With training processes in places such as: Ballet Studio Bogotá (2009-2019), Ballet Anna Pavlova (2016-2021), Briansky Ballet Center (Boston, USA), The Rock School for Dance Education summer intensive and year round program (Philadelphia, USA 2013 and 2014), Escuela Nacional de Ballet de Cuba (Havana, Cuba 2011 and 2014), Miami International Ballet Competition (Miami, USA 2018), Palermo Summer Intensive (Palermo, Italy 2019) and Balletto Teatro Di Torino ( 2019).
Professional experiences: Alma en Movimiento Program of the Julio Mario Santo Domingo Theater (2015-2019), Cali Ballet Festival “Narcissus” (2017), National Tour Alma en Movimiento “Sueño de Lilith” (2019 ), Cine Colombia Ballet Season (2019) and guest dancer "Christmas Ballet Season" with the Barranquilla Ballet (2019).
Winner of IDARTES calls such as: Scholarship III Meeting of Schools of Bogotá with the work " Dreaming Encounters ”(2020) and Christmas Artistic and Cultural Agenda with the work“ L Aurora's wedding ”(2020).

I love teaching through the logics of movement, explaining each step well to achieve a correct execution of it, without forgetting that dancing and enjoying the dance is always the most important thing. I can help you to reinforce some classic variation or pointe work. When teaching a fitness class I focus on the correct execution of the exercises, in order to achieve less effort but more work.
