About Bridget
Hello! It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’ve been teaching English Language Arts for twenty years, working with students in grades 6–12 as well as adults preparing for the GED or TABE testing. I support learners in reading comprehension, writing (argumentative and informational), and a wide range of literary genres. I also provide clear, structured guidance in grammar to help students strengthen their communication skills.

Experienced Literacy Tutor Teaches Cambridge English, TABE, and GED RLA Using Patient, Simplified Visual Frameworks
Teaching Philosophy & Methods
I make reading, writing, and critical thinking simple and logical. Rather than forcing memorization, I use guided questioning, visual frameworks, and step-by-step breakdowns to help you master effective communication and confidently handle any exam or prompt independently.
Typical Lesson Flow
We begin with a personal progress check-in and a targeted review of past skills. Next, we explore a core concept (like thesis structure or test strategies) through practical examples, engage in collaborative practice, and wrap up with clear goals for independent study.
What Sets Me Apart
I offer highly versatile, empathetic mentorship that adapts entirely to your unique learning style. Beyond just proofreading or grading, I focus on building true confidence, sharpening critical thinking, and overcoming exam anxiety so you become a self-sufficient learner.
