About Dana
I am a graduate student in the Smith College Clinical Social Work masters program. I have been working in the field for 3 1/2 years. I have 2 years experience working in behavioral modification based in operant conditioning theory. Additionally, I have had educational exposure to psychodynamic theories, neuropsychology, epidemiology, and child development. Most of my clinical experience has been with clients on the autism spectrum and developmental/intellectual disabilities.

My teaching method is based in accommodating my strategy to a client's specific needs and learning style. For example, if memorization is required, testing methods will be the focus as studies have shown that memory recall solidifies information better than recurrent exposure to information. I have had to learn multiple learning methods for myself having grown up with diagnosed learning disabilities. This experience has informed my teaching methods while working with students with learning differences.
