About Ava
I completed my Bachelor’s in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska Omaha, where I mentored high-school students in coding clubs and supported transition programs for students entering STEM majors. With 5 years of online teaching, I’ve learned to break complex topics into simple, relevant ideas. Students often say I’m the first person who made coding feel “organized and doable.”

When teaching programming, I make sure students understand why something works before moving to how it works. We start with the mindset behind problem-solving and computational thinking. Then we move gently into Python, SQL, JavaScript, Java, and introductory AI.
My lessons are structured but not rushed. Students write small pieces of code, see how the computer responds, fix mistakes, and build confidence gradually. I encourage them to experiment, question, and think creatively. By the time we reach more advanced topics, they already have the logical foundation needed for future college programming courses.
