About Khalifa

Hi, I’m Khalifa, I am a co-founder of West Port Architects and Urban Design Officer for Winchester City Council. I also sit on the Design and Quality Review Panels for the London boroughs of Ealing, Brent, Haringey and Lambeth.

In 2012, I graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a Masters in Architecture. Following that period of study, I moved back to London, where I worked in several renowned architecture and design practices. From 2015 – 2017 I undertook a MSc in Urban Design and City Planning at University College London (UCL). I graduated this course with distinction. My research study for it looked into the inclusion and participation of black ethnic minorities in the redevelopment of Burgess Park, Peckham. The topic of equality and diversity in architecture is a subject I remain passionate about and one I am more than happy to share with you.

In 2016, I co-founded the architectural practice West Port Architects. Our office specialises in cultural and residential commissions, and exhibition design. In the years since it’s founding West Port has grown in size, won and delivered several high profile bids and projects. In recognition of the studio’s achievements, it is profiled in the latest editions of the Architect’s Journal 40 Under 40 and New Architects 4 publications. West Port has served as a mentor for students from UCL, Nottingham University, and the Royal College of Art.
