Over the years, Casey has helped me with numerous written assignments varying in length, style, and topic. I typically complete my papers and then email them to Casey asking her to edit them. In the past when I've had papers edited it has consisted of minor corrections to punctuation, grammar, and sentence structure, but with every paper I have given to Casey she has gone above my expectations of editing. She not only offers the correction, but she also explains why or how what the writer put was incorrect. In instances where sentences are unclear she offers possible replacements and explains how the replacement provides clarity to the reader. The amount of markups on my papers never feels overwhelming. Many of Casey's comments are compliments to what was written well or interesting, which is super encouraging to an unconfident writer like myself. Her comments are taught in an easily understandable way to those who don't really know the rules of English. With each new paper I write I keep in mind her past comments and try not to make the same mistake. With my improvement on old mistakes, Casey is able to make more advanced suggestions to my papers, improving my writing overall. I highly recommend Casey as not only a teacher, but also an encourager in the writing world.
