I am happy to write this recommendation for Marina Veronica.
I met Marina in 2013 when I arrived in the United States from Albania. I had very limited
English and was trying to adapt to a completely new country, culture, and way of life. As
one of her beginner English students, I quickly realized that Marina was much more
than just a teacher.
What I remember most is how welcoming and kind she was. She treated every student
with respect and patience, regardless of their English level. Learning a new language
can be intimidating, but Marina had a way of making everyone feel comfortable and
confident. I truly admired the patience she showed every day while working with
students who were just beginning to learn English.
What made Marina special was that her support extended beyond the classroom. She
genuinely cared about helping us adjust to life in Boston. She organized activities
outside of school, showed us different neighborhoods, and helped us become familiar
with the city. For many of us who were new to the United States, these experiences
were incredibly valuable.
I especially remember going out as a group to restaurants, cafés, and ice cream shops.
Marina would help us practice our English in real-life situations, even something as
simple as ordering food. These moments may seem small, but for someone who is new
to a country and still learning the language, they make a huge difference. She was
always there with us, encouraging us, answering questions, and helping us feel like we
belonged.
The confidence I gained during those early years helped me build my life in the United
States. Today, I own and operate my own construction and renovation business, and I
will always appreciate the role Marina played in helping me take those first important
steps.
Marina is not only an excellent teacher but also a caring mentor and a genuinely
wonderful person. I am grateful to have had her as my teacher and would highly
recommend her for any position she is pursuing.

• How do you know each other?
Marina and I have been acquainted for several years. We have both worked in academia in the liberal arts department with EFL students.

• What do you appreciate most about her teaching methods?

I am familiar with Marina's academic education; her work as a professor; the art tours she has conducted in the US and abroad; and her publications. I know her to be sensitive and socially aware.
