About Gilyana
Hi! I’m a Mechanical Engineering major in NYC, so you can bet I know how to juggle a lot of things—like school, a full-time office job, and squeezing in some hiking or reading when I can (I’m all about that hustle!). Still somehow I manage to have 3.9 GPA (out of 4), volunteer with a club, and explore New York. I moved to US when I was young, so I completely get how important it is to learn a new language and feel like you belong. Whether it's English, literature, or just navigating a new culture, I’m here to make it easier and fun. When I'm not buried in homework or office work, I love traveling, reading, and writing essays—because I think the world should be a little bit more curious and a little less serious. Let’s make learning not just productive, but enjoyable!

As a tutor, I focus on creating an interactive and personalized learning environment. I use a mix of visual aids, real-world examples, and conversational practice to engage students. For children and adults, I also incorporate cultural insights to make learning more relevant, especially for those moving to the U.S. or new immigrants. I work with kids in middle and high school as well as adults.
