About Alex
My name is Alex, and I’m passionate about helping students feel confident and capable in math. Having completed every math course up to AP Calculus, where I earned a score of 5 on the AP Calculus AB exam, I understand both the challenges and the rewards of understanding math when it becomes difficult. My tutoring approach combines patience, clear explanations, and step-by-step problem solving. The biggest thing that I focus on when tutoring is trying to build confidence in my students. I can do this by breaking problems into manageable steps and connecting ideas together so students can better grasp the concepts. I will start by reviewing any specific questions or homework problems the student brings in, then going over key concepts and examples together, before having them try examples on their own to demonstrate learning. What sets me apart is that I’ve taken every math course up to AP Calculus (Algebra, Precalculus, etc.) and earned a 5 on the AP Calculus AB exam, so I know firsthand how to succeed in high school and AP-level math. My lessons are designed for middle school through high school students, especially those preparing for algebra, precalculus, or AP Calculus exams, or anyone who just wants extra support to strengthen their math foundation.
