About Deeya
I've been learning French since I was five years old. After well over a decade of study and practical use of the language, I've developed a very deep knowledge of its grammatical/structural components as well as the everyday, cultural uses. I passed my DALF C2 exam this past spring, so I am now certified at the highest level of fluency per the European Language Standards. I believe language is an incredible tool in today's world and I'm motivated to help you succeed!

I teach lessons for anyone who wishes to learn French, especially middle and high school students. My lessons are tailored to what each student needs to supplement their knowledge, so the lesson plans may vary. Typically, we'd focus on one concept or a couple related concepts in a lesson, beginning by learning the concept itself and then supplementing it with examples. Students have ample opportunities to ask questions because I believe that inquiry is an important aspect of the learning process. I also incorporate an element of immersion in each lesson by engaging the student in conversation in French as much as possible, tailoring the level of difficulty to their current ability. I believe this process helps make connections and build practical skills. Finally, I value feedback; every student has a different learning style, so knowing what works best for them is key.
