I approach the topic from fundamentals for example "Why elections having +1/2 and -1/2 spin?" And: + and - indicates clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation and 1/2 because electrons are leptons According to the Standard Model, there are six different types of leptons. These include the Electron, the Muon, and Tau particles, as well as their associated neutrinos (i.e. electron neutrino, muon neutrino, and tau neutrino). Leptons have negative charge and a distinct mass, whereas their neutrinos have a neutral charge.
