About Martha
I'm a professional communicator and storyteller based in Manchester, and I've build a career in media relations, campaigns and public affairs. As a freelancer, I support charities, tech companies, and arts organisations to tell their stories, helping with everything from writing web copy and newsletters to developing policy recommendations and drafting speeches. When I'm not working with clients, I can be found writing my first novel, volunteering on local arts projects, and instilling a love of English literature in my students.
I have excellent academic credentials: 9 GCSEs A*-B (City of London School for Girls); AS Level Critical Thinking (A); A Levels in English Lit (A), History (A), and Government and Politics (B); and a Bachelor's degree in War Studies from King's College, London (2.1).
I've worked in Parliament, UK government departments, and political consultancy, demonstrating a highly professional attitude to work, and a wealth of knowledge to share.

I focus on instilling a love of learning, alongside teaching tips and tricks for excelling in exams and coursework. My lessons are friendly and engaging, combining a wealth of professional experience writing for varied audiences (10 years in press offices, agencies, and parliament), with an undergraduate degree in War Studies and a passion for English Literature. I can teach Year 6 onwards, including entrance examinations, GCSE, and A Level.
