About Jessica Lily
The Academy I went to picked me to be a tutor, and outside of school parents requested help. I turned it into a job that I greatly value! I have been giving lessons for over 6 years to teach students a variety of skills. Students have improved grades by over 30%, gotten awards for improved reading, and English language learners have made exceptional progress with their spoken English within a few months! Examples of topics I have experience teaching include: phonics, learning to read, improved reading fluency, writing essays, spelling, developing an American accent, and spoken, conversational English.

My teaching method is highly engaging and suited for each individual. For example, with children I use art, music, total physical response, and acting. I take note of each child’s interests to include that in the lessons. For adults, I use a more immersion-based approach, where I let them express themselves freely and comfortably, while taking note of areas that need improvement. Then, we dive into the vocabulary or grammar that could be fixed. We use plenty of practice and enjoyable memory aids, review it, and then they can go back and say it again. It's my aim for them to be respected, understood, and help them reach their goals.
