About Callista
Hi I'm Callista! I am currently entering my second year of a Bachelor of Music with an Honors in Voice Performance at Western University and am a proud crossover artist, passionate in both classical music and musical theater. I have been extremely active in the Ontario vocal community, participating in many voice festivals as a finalist and winner in my categories. I have qualified for the Ontario Music Festival Association (OMFA) Provincials for both classical and musical theater for eight years and have also taken part in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Ontario Chapter Vocal Showcase for numerous years, receiving several accolades in both classical and musical theater. I have also completed my Grade 10 RCM Voice certification and have had the pleasure of performing in various musicals throughout the years including original Canadian musicals such as Super School and Red Letter Day the film. Aside from my performance experience, I have shared my passion for the arts with young aspiring performers as a Specialized Arts Instructor and Music Director for the arts programming with the City of Richmond Hill.

I am a strong believer in the power of music. That is what has always drawn me to music and musical theater since I was a young girl; its ability to expose vulnerability, share unheard stories, create meaningful connections with others, and help one to reach their full potential. As a vocal coach, it is my goal to inspire young artists and help them find their own voice. No matter who they are, what they look like, or where they come from, they deserve to be heard and what better way to do so, then through music! As a strong believer in self-directed learning, I believe it is important for strong communication between student and teacher so that I may curate my approach to a student's needs and personal goals. With avid experience in both musical theater and classical training, I believe in the importance of storytelling and incorporate this into my lesson. In lessons, I am eager to assist in all musical areas and incorporate the teaching of practical musical skills, such as sight reading, ear training and more.
