About Zoe
Hi, I’m Zoe! I'm currently a 2nd year Law student at Lancaster University and I studied English Literature up to A-level during my secondary school years, and over time I discovered how much I enjoy helping others understand and enjoy their subjects too. I’ve worked with students preparing for the GCSEs and the 11+, supporting them in building confidence, improving their skills, and achieving the grades they were aiming for.
The reason that I teach is quite simple, it is because I understand first-hand how stressful school and exams can feel, and I want to make learning easier and more enjoyable for others. When I sat the 11+ exam all those years ago, the one thing that helped me get into the school of my choice was the fact that I had an amazing tutor who guided me throughout the whole process; so now that I'm older, I want to do the exact same for you. My goal is not just to help you get good grades, but to give you the tools and confidence to keep succeeding long after our lessons.

My tutoring approach is centred on tailoring lessons to the needs of each student. I focus on breaking down complex topics into clear, manageable steps and using examples, practice questions, and discussion to help students develop confidence as well as subject knowledge. I encourage active participation, ensuring that students aren’t just learning content but also building the skills to apply it effectively in exams.
Lessons typically last around an hour, but I am flexible and adapt the length and structure depending on what benefits the student most. For example, some students may prefer shorter, more intensive sessions, while others thrive in longer, more detailed lessons. I studied English Literature at A-Level, and I have also gained experience helping students, most commonly with GCSE and 11+ preparation, to achieve their best grades.
My students have benefited from targeted exam preparation, as well as broader skill-building in reading comprehension, essay writing, and critical thinking. I work with learners ranging from primary through to secondary school level, adjusting my teaching style to suit their age, ability, and goals. Whether supporting younger pupils in developing foundational skills or guiding older students through exam preparation, my priority is to create a supportive and motivating environment that allows every student to reach their full potential.

As one of her tutees she has taught me quite a lot. My grades have significantly improved because of her as she uses various methods to make it easier for you to understand how to get good grades.
She is a strong teacher and heavily improved my son’s grades. She also is able to form a good relationship with her tutees.
Zoe is an amazing tutor, she tutored me all the way to get into to my chosen school and I’m very thankful to her for being so patient with me. She is an amazing English tutor I would 100% recommend her.
We are so grateful for the amazing support my daughter received in English while preparing for the 11+. Her tutor Zoe, was patient, kind, and very knowledgeable. She helped my daughter improve her comprehension skills and gave her the confidence to do her best. Thanks to her guidance, my daughter was successful in her exams and has been offered places at Newstead Wood, and even a private school. We couldn’t be happier with the results. I would highly recommend her to any parent looking for an excellent English tutor!
