About Kayinsola

Hello, I’m Kayinsola! I am a BA Human Social and Political Sciences Graduate from Murray Edwards College, University of Cambridge and I'm currently getting my Master’s degree in Education from Harvard University. I have been tutoring and teaching for over seven years now, both online and in person mainly one-on-one for a vast range of subjects. I focus primarily on Oxbridge Admissions and Interviews, Personal Statement Writing, US University Admissions, Sociology, English Literature and Essay Writing. I also have experience preparing students for the 11+, GCSE’s and A-Levels, with my experience being primarily in AQA and OCR exam boards.

Many of my students have gone on to achieve places at top UK universities such as Oxbridge, LSE, UCL, Durham and Warwick, as well as top US universities. I am a believer that the university admissions process is a longer term one that yields success when you invest in the process from early on in year 12. I am happy to guide students through what can be a stressful process and a challenging time as students juggle so many aspects of life.

A bit more about my qualifications:

• M.Ed. Candidate at Harvard University Graduate School of Education
• University of Cambridge BA - Human, Social and Political Sciences
• A-Level: (A*) English Literature, (A*) Economics, (A) History, (A) Extended Project Qualification
• 10 GCSE’s (All Grade 8-9) including History (9) Maths (8) and English Literature and Language (8)

5/5 University offers from:
• LSE - Law and Anthropology (only 19 offers made ~ 8.9% acceptance rate)
• UCL – International Social and Political Sciences with a Language
• Warwick – Law and Sociology
• Manchester – Politics and International Relations
• Cambridge – Human, Social and Political Sciences

A bit more about my experience:
• Hundreds of hours of online private tutoring experience across English Literature, Sociology, Essay Writing, at KS1-3, GCSE, AS and A-Level, undergraduate and for 11+ preparation.
• 3 years of University Admissions and Oxbridge Interview preparation, taking students through the journey towards university.
• A trainee English teacher for 3 months teaching English as a foreign language in Thailand while working on the TESOL qualification.
• Current Master’s degree specialising in Learning Design, Innovation and Technology and tailored education.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I look forward to meeting you!

As a current student and as someone getting their postgrad degree in education, I’m always learning more about what works in teaching and what doesn’t and adapting my teaching style as such. I always put the students and their needs first, tailoring each session to prioritise this, and in order to this I have to get to know the student I’m teaching. The best lessons are conducted when there’s a rapport between student and teacher and the lesson comes to life. Despite my subjects being essay focused, I believe in lessons being highly interactive and discussion based so that students can engage in active learning. It helps to talk things out!

As a successful Cambridge, Harvard and other top university applicant, I’m keen to help out students throughout the application process. From advice about choosing universities, to personal statement creation, pre-interview coaching and mock interview practice, I am here and happy to help!

Often it can feel unclear what is expected of students with essay based subjects, but I’m here to break down these issues into clear understandable steps, which students can implement long after their time with me is done. I am a big believer in simplifying complex topics in an easy way that everyone can understand.

With experience teaching students from ages 10-22, I’m very flexible and keen to adapt lessons for every learning style and individual situations and needs!

I believe that a confident learner is a successful learner and that confidence is crucial at any level of education. I will encourage, not humiliate and you can be confident that topics will be approached in a way that students can make speedy and long-lasting progress.
