About Olivia
I am currently studying at the University of Bristol and mainly focus on medieval history and how social groups resisted the power structures that limited them through the use of religion and literature to expand their influence. I also focus on postcolonial history, re-examining the legacy of western colonialism in post-colonial countries and how it affects their identity today. I want to tutor others because I found school very stressful with the pressure of exams and it took coming to university to rediscover my interest in learning and I want to help relieve some of the pressure that exams can bring and show that learning can be fun and interesting. Or at least bring some clarity to exams and application processes and help students feel confident in their abilities.

I would cater the lessons to your personal needs whether that is content for exams, practising exam questions or improving your writing style. I also would be happy to help with general revision and learning techniques and university applications. I think it's best to apply content in an exam scenario so I would encourage you to think about how content would be used in exams and how this can help you understand what you need to do better and help you cope with the pressure of exams. I would be happy to offer advice for writing personal statements and applying for UCAS and Oxbridge. As I applied for Oxbridge myself I understand how stressful the process can be whilst studying for mocks so I'd love to offer a helping hand and give a different perspective of what universities are looking for.
