About Slade
I hold a Master's degree in Economics with a specialization in Quantitative Methods, and currently teach at a large public university. I spent nearly a decade teaching AP Micro- and Macroeconomics, realizing a high degree of student success.
I actively engage in pedagogical research, as well as various topics of interest within the field of Microeconomics. I regularly receive excellent student evaluations, with the top common themes highlighting my empathy/relatability, professionalism, engagement, and content knowledge.

I have 12 years teaching in the K-12 classroom setting, having taught nearly a decade of Advanced Placement Micro- and Macroeconomics, with a high degree of student success. I am currently an instructor of Introductory Micro- and Macroeconomics at a large public university, and my educational background (Master's of Economics) enables me to comfortably tutor in both Intermediate Micro- and Macroeconomics as well.
A typical lesson will involve the student bringing specific questions to the tutoring session (this can be as broad or specific as needed), and a quick diagnosis of the current level of understanding and any gaps that may exist. From there, we will work together to address gaps (whether skills or content), engage in targeted practice, and a short review to assess what progress has been made. Additional recommended strategies for post-session work will be given to help ensure long-term retention.
These lessons can be for any student at the high-school or college level seeking to improve their understanding of economics. Sessions can be geared toward exam preparation, content reinforcement, or content extension (if the student feels that would be appropriate).
