About Sumeka
I am a 4th year medical student, working my way toward becoming a qualified doctor in a couple years time. I have always been passionate about building strong, supportive relationships with others, especially when it involves helping others reach their potential. As a medical student, I have developed essential values of communication, patience and professionalism, which I bring into my tutoring. My previous experience in tutoring has truly enabled me to understand the importance of individuality - every student learns differently, and my role is to support that unique journey. My tutoring style is very much personalised to the individual, some may benefit from a slower pace or a recap of more of the basic concepts, whilst others may not. My goal is to create a supportive, non-judgemental environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging fully in the learning process.

My previous experience as a tutor has equipped me with adaptable strategies to support each student's unique learning style. This involves me focusing on each individual's strengths and developing personalised approaches to help them work their way through their weaknesses. Patience and communication are key skills in effective tutoring as I believe they help students to build confidence and engage in the teaching.
In each session, I aim to emphasise a solid understanding of the core concepts and only when the student is comfortable with this, will I progress onto more advanced material.
A typical lesson will be 1hr or 1.5hrs according to student's preference and learning needs.
I am a 4th year medical student;I achieved 3As in A-Level Maths, Biology and Chemistry. I received 5A*s and 5As in my GCSEs. My lessons are offered for anyone between the ages 4-16, including GCSE level, specifically for Maths, Biology, Chemistry and English.

really appreciated sumeka’s method of teaching, she had a great pace and was always willing to turn back to reiterate concepts i was struggling with. she was always pleasant and patient with me, i loved being taught by her!
