About Jolanda
I'm Jolanda, a biology student at Aberdeen University, and if you're someone who prefers being able to converse with others on the same level as you, we might be a perfect match. Although I am the authority figure, I do not like to talk to my students as though they are beneath me. I strive to create an open and safe environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and stating when they don't understand things without fear of judgement or belittlement. Additionally, being younger makes it easier for me to connect with students, as we often have things in common, understand each other's references, and I can help them prepare for exams by providing revision tips and habits that have helped me succeed.

I like to talk with my commencing students in advance to come to terms with their understanding and the weakest areas that require the most support. Additionally, I cater to the preferences of the student. If they prefer a more active approach such as mindmaps, flashcards and past paper questions we can do that but if they prefer a more passive approach such as overviewing content content that can easily be done! Standard lessons are typically an hour but that can be increased/decreased as necessary. Nothing is ever fixed in a box!
