About Md Shafiqul Islam

Hello! I'm a fourth-year Physics PhD student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, with extensive experience as a teaching assistant in undergraduate labs. My approach to tutoring is grounded in a deep understanding of both the subject matter and effective teaching strategies. I believe in a student-centered learning environment where each lesson is tailored to your unique needs and learning style. My goal is to make complex concepts more accessible and engaging, ensuring you not only understand the material but also develop a genuine interest in it. A typical lesson with me begins with a quick review of previous topics, followed by an introduction to new concepts, interactive discussions, and hands-on practice. I incorporate real-world examples to make the material relatable, and I use regular assessments to track my progress and adjust the lessons accordingly. My commitment to your success reflects my personalized teaching methods, resourcefulness, and ongoing support. With my background and dedication, I'm confident in helping you achieve your academic goals and build a strong foundation in physics, science, and math.

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor is centered on student-focused and interactive learning. I tailor my teaching methods to suit each student's unique needs and learning styles, using scaffolded instruction to break down complex concepts into manageable parts. I used to teach at UAB as a teaching assistant. I employ real-world examples and analogies to make abstract ideas more relatable and ensure engagement through discussions, Q&A sessions, and problem-solving activities. Regular feedback and assessments help track progress and adjust the teaching strategy accordingly. A typical lesson plan includes a brief review, introduction to new material, interactive explanation of key concepts, hands-on practice, and a summary with a preview of the next topic. What sets me apart is my personalization, engagement techniques, resourcefulness, patience, and expertise. I focus on subjects like mathematics, science, and Physics, aiming to help students achieve their academic goals and foster a love for learning.
