About Helaina
I trained with a reputable dance school from the age of 4, and at university have become dance captain of the performing arts society and a choreographer in ballet and tap for the competition dance team and in modern dance for the musical.

I approach all my classes with a basis of patience and compassion. I begin by working with my students to find out their abilities and then look to how I can work with them at a level they are comfortable with and still push them to to strive for better. I have taught group lessons both for confident dancers and complete beginners with an appropriate technique for the different abilities classes, and held private lessons in beginner/remedial tap and ballet.
I believe that there is no ‘correct’ body for dance, and will very happily teach anyone who is willing to learn and make the appropriate adjustments for everyone’s capabilities. I have taught dancers with disabilities and chronic illness/chronic pain before and would be overjoyed to work with those who have faced challenges in the world of dance. At the end of the day I believe that dance is for everyone!
