About Shania
My name is Shania Grancourt, born and raised in Mauritius, and now based in Cape Town where I’m studying Sports Management. My long-term dream is to own my own dance school because teaching has always felt natural to me. I’m patient, empathetic, and extremely observant, which helps me understand my students, notice their mistakes, and guide them gently toward improvement. I allow people to learn at their own pace, make mistakes, and build confidence through practice. I completed two years of Sport Science before moving to Cape Town to continue my studies, and I’m entering my final year. To gain real experience and share my passion, I’ve chosen to start teaching personal training and help people feel stronger and more connected to their bodies. My training offers a unique mix of Zumba, Aerobics and guided Stretching, all rooted in my background as a dancer and afrodance teacher. Whether you join for Zumba or Aerobics, every session includes a proper stretching component to improve mobility, prevent injuries and help you feel stronger in your body.
My classes are built around African modern music — afrobeats, amapiano and other uplifting rhythms — to keep the energy high and the atmosphere fun while still giving you a real workout.
With my bachelor studies in Sports Management and a certificate in sport science, I understand how different bodies move and what each person needs. I create safe, motivating and culturally rooted sessions that help you improve your fitness while enjoying the spirit of dance.
