About Magnus
I have been playing guitar for over 14 years, delving into rock, jazz, country, and classical. I have toured around the East coast in multiple bands, played in numerous festivals, and have recorded in studios in PEI and BC.
Some of my favourite guitarists include Julian Lage, Kevin Shields, Thurston Moore, John Scofield, Bill Frisell, and Bill Orcutt.
I have a soft spot for experimental and unorthodox approaches to playing music, but also stress the importance of having enough knowledge to justify those unorthodox decisions.

The most important thing my students should learn is how to find the joy in playing your instrument. Regardless of skill level or style of playing, enjoying playing the guitar is by far the most important part of learning the instrument.
I have experience teaching jazz, rock, classical, country, and metal.
I am comfortable teaching absolute beginners all the way up to players getting ready to study music at a university level.
