About Lyra
With over 3 years of teaching experience, I am a piano tutor offering both in-person and online lessons. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with a Pedagogy focus. My teaching philosophy emphasizes sight-reading fluency, score analysis, and interpreting complex classical repertoire. Lessons are tailored to each student, integrating music history, theory, finger exercises, and period performance practices. I have guided students from beginner to advanced levels, as well as professional and expert classical pianists. My approach balances technical precision with expressive interpretation. Students develop analytical skills, musical insight, and performance confidence. I provide structured exercises alongside creative exploration to foster continual growth. I focus on teaching piano with a strong emphasis on ear training and auditory skills. Lessons help students identify chords, melodies, and rhythms by ear while developing perfect pitch. I guide Composers and Digital Producers to internalize musical patterns without relying on sheet music. Exercises include interval recognition, harmonic dictation, and melodic transcription. Lessons are tailored to beginners, intermediate, and advanced learners. My methodology combines theory, listening exercises, and hands-on keyboard work. Students strengthen musical intuition and improvisation skills. I provide constructive feedback to ensure improvement and accuracy. Lessons foster independent musicianship, helping students recognize patterns and structures quickly. Students learn to reproduce music, compose, and perform with confidence. My approach balances technical development with creative exploration. Together, we cultivate a strong auditory foundation for all aspects of music.
