About Laurie
My name is Laurie Standish Hayes, I am a tenor from Malvern in Worcestershire. I have studied voice for 6 years at conservatoire level and have a keen and varied understanding of how the voice works in multiple genres. My passion for teaching lies in the creation and development of vocal techniques, enabling my students to have a deep understanding of their voice and a developing foundation for their lives as a singer and artist.
From a self-taught musical background, my journey as a singer has been less conventional than others with my qualification. I was given a guitar at the age of 10 and immediately began to write songs and I haven’t stopped since. On my journey through music I have visited many genres. Singing in rock and metal bands, jazz bands and on the musical theatre stage. Somewhere along the way I developed a love for opera and classical singing and decided to dedicate my time to its study. During my time studying I developed an eager interest in all things voice and started to gather as much knowledge about how it works and is used to create the rich tapestry of singing styles we have today.
It would be my absolute pleasure to share this information with you and help guide you towards becoming the singer and artist that is just waiting to be discovered.
