About Lia
I hold degrees from several Big Ten Universities in piano performance and music theory. I am very involved in the Music Teachers National Association, and I have performed at Carnegie Hall, and taught and performed around the United States, Europe, and Central America. I give frequent master classes and adjudicate competitions of all levels. Furthermore, I occasionally substitute teach for elementary school, so I would also enjoy working with elementary students on rudiments and fundamentals in the K-5 curriculum.

I will cater lesson plans to individual needs. If I'm teaching a piano lesson, we work on technique studies, theory concepts, and then repertoire pieces, followed by some basic aural skills and improvisation depending upon the length of the repertoire and time of lesson.
For music theory I would again cater lessons to individual goals and needs, but would work to first cement fundamental concepts. I am kind, organized, and really work to make sure students understand concepts deeply.
I will teach any level from beginner through college or beyond as I have experience teaching music to all levels, and experience substitute teaching in elementary schools.
