About James
I hold a doctorate in classical literature, and I am an invited researcher at Sorbonne University. As a linguist and classical scholar, I have a much better command of English grammar than other tutors do. English is an unusual language, with lots of unexpected rules. Unlike most tutors, I can explain the reasons English works the way it does. As a teacher, I encourage students to be bold, to make mistakes, and to enjoy themselves. I will never become frustrated or impatient with you. I think you will have a lot of fun mastering English with me.

Perfect! James is the BEST proofreader/editor in English you could wish for! I contacted him for the correction of my application letter to US universities and his help has been invaluable!! He was quick to reply and we arranged for skype sessions to discuss and work on the text. He perfectly understood its aim and not only did he check for errors but he also made very pertinent comments and editing suggestions that structured my ideas in the best possible way. I particularly appreciated his attention to detail and perfect knowledge of grammar and stylistic rules that made me feel 100% confident about the quality of my final text. He is also kind and encouraging, and shares very useful general advice. If you need help correcting/improving any piece of writing in English, I would highly recommend you work with him!
