I am based in Stellenbosch, studying my Honours in Psychology. I am offering lessons in both Psychology and Philosophy modules at undergraduate level, as well as Maths up to Grade 10.

About Demi
My mother is a teacher, and so from a young age I have been watching and learning how to approach the same information from multiple angles and explain it in different ways so as to compliment the strengths of a particular learner.
I have given many informal tutoring lessons at a high school level in the past three years, for Grade 9 physics in particular, and have been approached and offered work by several tutoring companies due to my excellent academic record. I have had to turn many of these offers down in the past due to time constraints, but have still gained the necessary experience on a word of mouth basis in order to feel confident in my ability to not only teach lessons, but to be a mentor to my tutees as well.
Every single one of the people I have ever taught or mentored has stayed in contact with me to this day, and grew from their lessons in many ways. At the end of the day my lessons are aimed at high end achievers who want to do better, study more efficiently, or learn to cope with and adapt to their course work in a way that is both holistic and realistic. I value teaching skills just as highly as explaining content. I am able to elaborate on concepts in a way that is easy to understand, however I also focus on teaching learners how to actually retain what they learn, and be able to recall it more easily when being assessed or tested on the content.
Lessons are semi-structured to allow for necessary flexibility and to ensure no problem area is glazed over. Effective studying is one of my core values, as well as working on ways to ensure a student can adequately cope with the demands of their course.
