About Uma
I’ve been tutoring math for over 8 years, and I hold a BSc in Mathematics for Data Science. My work focuses on helping middle school students who struggle with foundational algebra. I often teach linear equations, polynomial expressions, and basic functions. These topics become easier when explained clearly. I use fun puzzles to spark curiosity. Real-world examples help students connect math to everyday life. My step-by-step methods guide them from confusion to confidence. I’ve worked with many different learning styles and personalities. Some students are visual thinkers, while others need hands-on practice. I adapt quickly to what works best for each learner. I’m also experienced in helping students overcome math anxiety. My approach to teaching maths is built around clarity, patience, and structured learning. I support students in algebra, data interpretation, graphing skills, and beginner statistical methods.
