About Ruby
I am a driven piano tutor with 4 years of experience teaching school and college-level students. I have successfully mentored 200 to 300 students, helping them build strong technical skills and a genuine love for music. My teaching philosophy is centered on creativity, time management, and positivity, encouraging learners to explore self-expression while staying organized in their practice. I focus on technique, note reading, and music theory, celebrating small wins to keep learning enjoyable. My aim is to create a supportive space where learners feel motivated and confident as they grow into skilled pianists.

My teaching method for Piano, Music Theory, and Rhythm Training centers on building strong fundamentals while keeping sessions engaging and enjoyable. With a few years of experience guiding learners, I have developed a teaching style that balances structure with creative exploration.
Creativity plays a big role in my sessions. I encourage learners to try out different styles and even attempt composing simple melodies once they grasp the basics, helping them see piano as a tool for self expression rather than just note reading and repetition.
Time management is something I stress both in sessions and practice routines. I help learners structure their practice time effectively, focusing on the right balance between technique, theory, and repertoire, so they make steady progress without feeling overwhelmed or wasting effort on unfocused practice.
Positivity shapes how I interact with every learner. Learning piano can be frustrating at times, especially when mastering new techniques or difficult pieces. I focus on celebrating small wins and progress, keeping the learning space encouraging and motivating rather than stressful.
My sessions typically begin with proper hand posture and finger drills, followed by note reading and simple rhythm patterns. I introduce music theory basics early, helping learners grasp key signatures, scales, and chord structures alongside their practical playing.
As learners progress, I add more rhythm training exercises to strengthen their timing and coordination, along with basic ear training to build their sense of pitch and melody. For learners drawn to performance, I also work on expression and stage confidence.
I adjust my teaching to match each learner's personal goals, whether they learn piano for fun, work toward exams, or build a base for future advanced study. My overall aim is to create a creative, well organized, and positive learning space where every learner feels motivated to grow.
