About Alex
I am a Durham University Business and Management Student with 2+ years of tutoring experience. Typically I teach Business & Economics but I do also have experience coaching for 11+ exams and consulting internship & placement applications. I myself took the 11+ and went to grammar school where I obtained A*AAA at A level in Business, Economics, Politics and Accounting. The Lessons : For each student I work with I develop a personalised study plan tailored to them which ensures that the lessons cover the areas of the course specification which need the most attention. Each lesson consists of a review & recall activity of the previous session's content. Then an overview and teaching of a new topic, followed by going through example assessment questions, applying learnt content in an exam scenario. We will also review any written work or examples completed, marking and providing feedback. As a student myself I can appreciate the position of students better and relate to the difficulties of studying, my teaching style is informal and conversational, taking time to go through examples and explain concepts in real-world situations. Lessons take place online and typically last 1-2 hours. Work can be provided for completion in between lessons, which is then reviewed.

I would highly recommend Alex to help you with CV, Interview preparation and general help with applications for spring weeks, internships and placements. He has lots of experience applying for similar ones to me and he made me feel alot more confident and meant I eventually secured a few offers. His teaching style is a good amount of laid back and informal and he explains things clearly and well.
5* - My son has been tutored by Alex for 2 years now for business studies at GCSE level and now Alevels, and has done economics Alevel with him too. He always seems to have my son focused and he says he enjoys the lessons, I have defiantely seen an improvement in his grades, and Im confident he'll get an A* at this rate.
