About Cathy
Hello, my name is Cathy, and I am from sunny South Africa! I have been an ESL tutor for more than 5 years now and have had the privilege of meeting people from all over the world. I am also very proud to say that many of my students have become good friends of mine during this time. Not only do I have a lot of experience in teaching Business English and assisting students with IELTS speaking exam preparation, I am a qualified dyslexia coach and work with children who have reading difficulties, such as dyslexia. This qualification gives me the ability to focus on phonemic awareness, which benefits all of my students. If you would like to practice your conversation skills, I have a wide range of hobbies and interests, and I love talking to strangers, so we will never run out of topics to discuss. My daughter says I have a terrible singing voice, but I love music and singing anyway. I also love animals, and we have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a snake as pets. (To be honest, the snake is my daughter's pet—I am afraid of it.) I am pretty sure most of you out here are on the same page as me with that one! I love working with people and helping them grow.
