About Maia
I am a tutor and educator with 5 years of experience. I substitute taught for 5 years in Glendale, tutored ELA for 3 years, and taught English as a foreign language for 1 year when I lived in Poland. I lived in Poland for 4 years and earned my M.A in European Studies. I am originally from Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles, and my hobbies are hiking, gardening, walking the dog, and feeding the ducks and chickens.

I approach each client holistically and look at the big picture. I believe that in order for anyone to learn, the "whole brain" must be fully online and present. Therefore, the first step in the learning process is to calm the mind and ground oneself in the present moment. I can assist with that. Afterwards, any learning is possible.
