About David
I have over 20 years’ experience at the Reserve Bank of Australia, combined with an Honors degree in Economics, an Engineering degree, and current postgraduate study at the University of Sydney,
I’m also a father of five, and understand the importance of building both confidence and strong study habits in students.
My focus is on helping students move beyond theory and develop the skills needed to perform strongly in exams. I specialize in making complex economic concepts clear and practical, with an emphasis on structure, application and results.
I take a structured, supportive approach to tutoring, helping students improve quickly while feeling confident in their progress.

My lessons are highly structured and focused on improving exam performance, not just understanding theory.
For HSC Economics, I focus on the key skills required for Band 5/6 results:
• Structuring short-answer and extended responses
• Applying theory to real-world examples
• Developing clear, concise explanations under exam conditions
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s needs, but typically includes:
• Review of syllabus topics (e.g. inflation, unemployment, global economy)
• Worked examples and model answers
• Guided practice for exam questions
• Immediate feedback on structure and technique
I also provide practical frameworks to help students approach essays with confidence, including how to plan, structure and evaluate responses effectively.
My approach is clear, practical and results-focused — helping students translate their knowledge into higher marks.
Where helpful, I draw on real-world insights from my 21 years at the Reserve Bank of Australia to make economic concepts more intuitive and relevant.
