About Grace
I have been a teacher in many different aspects for a large part of my life. Teaching is something that I love to do, as well as seeing students succeed. I always want to ensure that my students feel safe, respected and supported when being taught by me. I always tell students that mistakes are going to happen and that is how you know you are learning. I look to use those mistakes to find ways to improve your understanding of different subjects and ideas. I also make sure to take my time when working through more challenging materials with students because I know from personal experience how stressful it can be to be rushed through new ideas in school.

My teaching methodology and techniques vary from lesson to lesson. I strive to include as many types of media and literacy as I can in all my lessons. I want to teach students through reading websites, and books, watching videos, and completing research. A typical lesson plan from me would include a brief overview/mini-lesson of what the session would include. We would then go through a series of examples following the ideas of: I do -we do- you do, slowly introducing the student to new materials. We would then move into student-independent work, in which they would complete tasks similar to what we worked through earlier. To end the lesson would be a quick review of everything that they learnt, and leave time for any questions that they may still have.
