About Danielle
I have been working within education since 2014 to this current day. I have worked and taken part in educational research in a variety of different settings with children from all walks of life and at different developmental stages of learning. I have worked in alternative educational settings such as Montessori and Steiner school. This has led me to develop my pedagogy on how children learn which has enabled me to learn skills such as adaptability to the individual’s way of learning. I have also, worked within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) where behaviour and SEND can occur simultaneously. This experience has taught me the importance of language and perseverance to build self-esteem and confidence in children. All of which I use to support in my class base teaching and my little experience of tutoring (now a year). Tutoring for me is an individualised approach which enables children to raise their own personal expectation of what they think they can achieve and one of my favourite saying before children work with me is ‘it is okay not to know or to make mistakes because that is how we learn’ and ‘I don’t know this, yet!’

First I would make an assessment and work with you to target areas which need greater focus in order to maximise the learning time we have. A typical lesson could be from 30 to 60 minutes. I have tutored for 3 years with primary school children in reading, maths and writing, Year 6 SATS and Year 11 GCSE preparation.More recently, I have helped with degree assignment structure and proofreading in medical science, psychology, sociology, education and philosophy. My specialism is adapting my approach to children and adult with SEND as I have a lot of experience in this area.
