About Michaela
I am Michaela Harris, I grew up on a farm in the Eastern Cape in South Africa. I discovered my passion for teaching in 2015 when I did my GAP year in the in England at a school by the name of Hurstpierpoint College. I then returned to South Africa to complete my Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Stellenbosch. During my four years of studying, I discovered my teaching preferences and style. I am a very visual teacher, I like to make use of images and videos to make the lesson more exciting and interactive. I also draw on mine and my students' experiences to allow for learners to have something that they can relate to. I consider myself very flexible and open-minded - I am always up for a challenge and looking for ways in which I can better myself as a person and as an educator. I have gathered tutoring experience from working for a South African company as well as teaching and volunteering in schools across South Africa. I have also started helping the school learners on the farm, so as to keep them up to date and allow them the opportunity to achieve their best in their academics. I am a very active person and I enjoy playing sports and training in my free time. Miss Harris has been working for Wineland Nannies for the past 3 years on a part time basis.
