I started guitar lessons with Andy as a complete beginner and he's gone above and beyond, from helping me to choose my first guitar (and re-stringed it for me) through to learning some of my favourite Eagles songs. I would recommend Andy to anyone. As someone who hadn't picked up a guitar in years and had minimal experience, and having been disappointed by a previous teacher, Andy was a breath of fresh air. He breaks down each week into digestible lessons and always incorporates songs I love to make learning fun and engaging. The online learning makes it convenient and easy to access for anyone. For beginners like me he is patient and has ultimately helped improve both my skill and confidence with guitar.

Not only does Andy rock at the guitar, he rocks at teaching it too. I started online lessons with Andy in January and have made more progress in this short period of time (2-3 months) than in the past five/ten years attempting to get better at guitar on my own - and it's been super fun! Andy's lessons are structured and delivered in such a way that I am learning new songs on a regular basis, while also developing my understanding and appreciation for music (the lingo + various elements that create it) and the instrument I'm playing. Andy really cares and loves what he does - and it is clear from the enthusiasm he brings to the prep he does prior to each lesson so that every session is in tune with the progress you are making. He is very responsive too and keen to hear your feedback and inputs/ideas to ensure the lessons meet your expectations/interests! :)

I started lessons with Andy as a complete beginner, with no real musical background or confidence playing guitar. In a surprisingly short amount of time, he helped me go from knowing absolutely nothing to being able to play some of the greatest hits I never thought I’d be capable of learning.

Rather than making things feel overly technical or intimidating, he focuses on building confidence while still making real progress every week.

One of the best parts of learning with Andy has honestly been the atmosphere during lessons. We’ve had loads of great chats and laughs along the way, and over time it’s felt more like learning from a friend than just a tutor.

Andy’s teaching has the perfect mixture of structure and flexibility. He is able to cater to anything specific you’re looking for without it ending up delaying your growth as a player. I personally have been playing guitar for years already but didn’t progress very far as though I knew I didn’t practice enough that was partially because I didn’t feel my previous teachers gave me the tools I needed to know how to practice. This is not the case with Andy. He’s providing me with the knowledge to structure my own practice without guesswork. I’ve made leaps and bounds of progress now and I couldn’t recommend him enough. He’s also a really welcoming guy and very friendly, so you can feel comfortable looking forward to lessons. If you’re wanting to get better at guitar I suggest you don’t waste time anywhere else and book a lesson with Andy!

Andy is an excellent guitar tutor! He’s incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, excelling at tailoring lessons that make learning guitar approachable, structured and fun. My playing - and also understanding of musical theory - has improved dramatically since starting lessons with him. Highly recommend!

I’ve been taking Andy’s lessons weekly for about 5 months now. Hands down one of the teachers I’ve ever had in any subject. My top three reasons are: 1) Andy takes the time to understand what I want and assess how well I’m doing - he asks questions, listens carefully, and takes notes to make sure every lesson fits my needs, abilities, and learning style; 2) that said, he has a solid teaching plan and his own method, which to me shows he knows what he’s doing and where we’re headed; 3) he demands results both from me and from himself, which makes sure we don’t get stuck and make constant progress. He can hold you accountable, but in the end he doesn’t even need to - the lessons are so fun I’ll always rush home to practise what we’ve just covered.

I would highly recommend Andy as a professional, friendly, patient and very effective guitar teacher.
He tailors his lessons and learning structure to meet students where they are in their guitar skills and experience whilst also checking and ensuring previous gaps in theory and technique are covered, understood and can be applied.
He strikes a good balance of theory and application and from just 1 hour per week my guitar practice is now much more structured and enjoyable! After years of messing around with YouTube I finally have a plan with helpful feedback and feel I'm making genuine progress (although Andy might disagree!).

Andy is a great teacher - he explains music theory in a really simple and digestible way, which has made learning the more technical aspects fun and engaging. He listens to what I want to learn and designs exercises and practice techniques to help me get there. Andy’s always on hand to give me tips and advice between lessons and will often take time to send a voicenote or a video explaining something I need help with, which I massively appreciate. I can’t recommend him enough!

I’ve had a guitar for a number of year but I’ve never been able to grasp the fundamentals in relation to playing a guitar successful. I’m delighted that I’ve finally got around to having guitar lessons. Andy is a really friendly and down to earth guy. I feel extremely comfortable in asking anything, no matter how silly I may think it may sound. Andy has an ability to explain thing in a way which isn’t complicated or difficult to understand.
