About Erica
I am an experienced saxophone tutor with 7 years of professional teaching experience. I have taught nearly 300 students from high school, college, and working professionals. I enjoy working with students of all ages and helping them grow in both musical skill and confidence. Teaching saxophone gives me great happiness because I can see students improve with every lesson. My teaching philosophy is simple: learn with understanding, practice with discipline, and perform with confidence. I start every student with correct posture, breathing control, finger positioning, and sound production.
Once the basics are strong, I move towards scales, exercises, songs, and performance skills. I always explain concepts in an easy and clear way so students never feel confused. I customize each lesson based on the student’s level, goals, and interest. Some students want to play for fun, some want to prepare for exams, and others want to perform on stage. I guide each one in the right direction. Along with saxophone, I also teach basic music theory, rhythm training, sight reading, and simple improvisation. Many of my students have given stage performances in school and college functions. Several have achieved good marks in practical exams and music assessments. My classes focus not only on playing notes correctly but also on playing with expression and confidence. I aim to make every student a confident and disciplined musician.

My teaching methodology for saxophone is centered on Motivation, Communication, Integrity, and Creativity. I aim to create a positive and comfortable learning space where students feel inspired to grow. Each student receives a customized lesson plan based on their level, interest, and goals.
Motivation keeps students moving forward. I set clear short-term and long-term goals and celebrate progress to keep learning exciting. Communication is always open and simple. I explain every concept step-by-step and ensure students understand before moving ahead.
Integrity guides my teaching style. I focus on building strong basics such as breath control, tone quality, finger movement, scales, articulation, rhythm accuracy, and reading music properly. I correct mistakes gently and honestly so students can improve without fear.
Creativity helps students enjoy music deeply. I use fun warm-ups, musical games, improvisation sessions, and song-based learning. Students explore different music styles and develop their own musical voice. In addition to saxophone, I also teach music theory, basic composition, ear training, rhythm skills, and performance techniques. My goal is to help students become confident musicians, not just instrument players.
