About Emily
My personality is warm and friendly and I like to engage with students on a personal level and help them to discover their strengths and interests within the subject, whilst also working on areas of difficulty.
I strive to make lessons engaging and enjoyable where possible and never want a student to feel they are being lectured at, but rather conversed with. I want them to feel comfortable and respected in my class.
I have a First Class Honours Degree in English Literature, a PGCE certification in teaching Secondary English and plenty of experience working with children and young people

I subscribe to a student centered methodology and believe it is far better to teach skills and build confidence and interest in the subject than it is to learn by rote and temporarily memorize how to answer questions of a particular exam.
I am available to teach a wide range of ages from KS2 up to A-Level and my lessons are typically one hour.
