About Jenn
Need some extra help to pass your Spanish class? Interested in brushing up on your Spanish skills? Or planning a trip to a Spanish speaking country? Learning a foreign language is more than conjugating verbs on paper. I will help you or your child gain impressive communicative competence in Spanish and confidence as they study this beautiful language! I am a passionate educator who recently completed a Spanish Literature graduate degree through Middlebury College in Spain. I also hold two bachelors degrees in Spanish and Secondary Education. I have years of paid university tutoring experience, private tutoring, as well as two years of teaching experience. I am experienced working with learners of all ages in grades 1-12 as well as adult education. I look forward to working with you!
What distinguishes me is my strong academic background, with a master's in Spanish literature from Middlebury College, paired with my state certification for grades K-12. This ensures that my methods are not only effective but grounded in the latest pedagogical research. I adhere to the ACTFL proficiency guidelines, which means lessons are targeted to move students through various levels of language proficiency in a clear, measurable way. My passion for both the Spanish language and its cultures allows me to create engaging, immersive learning experiences that keep students motivated. I have studied abroad in Spain and am always happy to share my experiences abroad.

I offer Spanish skill-building support in reading, writing, speaking, and listening as well as personalized lessons to supplement all levels of school and university Spanish courses. I design my lessons to meet your unique goals and timeline. We will discuss your prior experience and target proficiency level or grade.
My lessons are designed for students of all ages and proficiency levels. Whether you're an elementary student just beginning your Spanish journey, a high schooler prepping for AP Spanish, or an adult looking to improve your conversational skills, I tailor my approach to your unique needs. I work with K-12 students, university students, and professionals seeking to enhance their language abilities for work, travel, or personal enrichment.
My teaching approach is rooted in communicative language teaching, emphasizing real-world communication. I prioritize helping students develop the ability to use Spanish in practical situations, whether they’re beginners or more advanced learners. Using techniques like role-playing, interactive conversations, and contextualized learning activities, I focus on building both fluency and accuracy. I also incorporate authentic materials such as articles, videos, and podcasts to immerse students in the culture and language simultaneously.
