About Elia
Hi!
I am a French student currently finishing my PhD in Clinical Neuroscience at UCL. Previously, I have been studying Bioengineering and Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge and the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (Switzerland). I also completed a Masters degree at the Royal College of Music in Cello.
I teach Cello, Neuroscience, Science (Biology, Physics), Maths and French. I have been tutoring since I am 15 years old in private or group lessons. I was a Maths assistant at the EPFL, providing classes to 40 people. I also supervised 4 students in Neuroscience and Statistics at the University of Cambridge and taught quantitative methods to undergraduate students at UCL.
I love teaching and providing my students the confidence they may have lost. Most of all, my passion is to transmit many different ways of learning, relating the subject to everyday life and concrete applications. For cello lessons, my priority is a zero-tension playing and a greater awareness of the body. I also always try to put the music in an historical and social context in order for my student to find inspiration and musical ideas.
My multiple background education has enabled me to discover all the links that can exist between apparently "opposite" subjects. Everything we learn at school is a way to apprehend the world around us and not only subjects we have to learn because we have no choice. Education offers resources to see the world differently and always be surprised! Keeping our curiosity alive is our source of happiness so grab it now!
