About Kilean
I have a PhD in Biomedical Engineering with undergraduate degrees in Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering. As an undergraduate I was a peer tutor and a teaching assistant for many chemical engineering courses including Fluid Mechanics, Mass and Energy Balances, and Kinetics. As a graduate student, I taught Biomaterials and Biomechanics to undergraduate students and graduate students. I've mentored over 25 students on a 1 to 1 level and taught classes up to 60 students.
I've also been doing research in these topic areas for the past 10 years and I feel that my practical experience helps me to better understand these topics and makes me better equipped to explain them to you.

I like to teach with the idea that it's not just a single problem set that you will be seeing. More often than not, concepts come up time and again in the same course or future courses and you want to be prepared to solve those kinds of problems. So I like to go over examples of similar problems and build an understanding of the topic as a whole.
While it's nice to just see a solution, I think that you learn best from trying to work through the problem yourself first. Then, I like to go over parts that you find difficult to understand or have difficulty starting. If you give me an idea of the problems ahead of time, I'll make sure to go over them and prepare for our lesson.
