About Jordan

I am a student at Johns Hopkins University currently studying Computer Science and Economics who graduated high school as salutatorian with a 4.8 GPA. I am a dedicated and patient tutor with a strong background in education and leadership. At Henderson-Hopkins School, I supported K–12 students in math and was recognized with a Certificate of Recognition for outstanding commitment to student progress. I also mentor high-achieving high school seniors through the National Partnership for Student Success, helping them navigate the college admissions process with confidence. Additionally, my experience assisting the CEO of a custom painting company sharpened my organizational and communication skills, ensuring I can manage responsibilities efficiently and professionally. I am passionate about creating positive, engaging learning environments and helping students reach their full potential.

About the lesson

As a math tutor, my approach is centered around building a strong foundation in concepts while fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. I adapt my teaching techniques based on each student’s learning style to make complex topics understandable and engaging. Teaching Method and Techniques: I focus on breaking down difficult math concepts into simple, relatable terms. I use visual aids, real-world examples, and step-by-step explanations to ensure comprehension. Practice and repetition are key, so I incorporate interactive exercises and regular reviews to reinforce learning. Typical Lesson Plan: Each lesson starts with a quick review of previous material, followed by an introduction to new concepts. I guide students through examples before allowing them to practice independently. At the end of each session, I provide a summary and a few practice problems to complete before the next lesson. What Sets Me Apart: Patience, clarity, and a passion for math education set me apart. I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual pace and learning style. Whether a student is struggling with basic arithmetic or tackling advanced calculus, I ensure they feel confident and supported. Who the Lessons Are For: I tutor students from elementary school to high school, covering topics like basic arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, calculus, and SAT/ACT math preparation. Lessons are customized for each grade level and learning objective, whether it’s catching up, staying on track, or getting ahead.
